Morning in my life as a WFH mom 🤍

If you know me, you know I’m a 5AM routine girlie. I love my quiet mornings & time to move my body . But when your body says, “Sis, rest”… you listen.

I hit snooze a few times and didn’t wake up until 6:15 😅

Somehow I still got the kids out the door on time. Breakfast at school today because we would’ve definitely been late otherwise.

Not every morning is smooth. Sometimes it’s just survival mode… and that’s okay.

Here’s what a realistic Sunday Reset looks like before the work week as a working mom of 3 🤍

Normally we grocery shop together as a family but this Sunday was not feeling it. So I sent my husband on the grocery run while I stayed home with the kids and got a head start on our reset.

Because Sundays in our house = set the tone for the entire week.

* No matter what’s going on, our Sunday reset usually includes:
* Whole house clean
* Grocery shopping
* Laundry (because it literally never ends)
* Planning out the week in my physical planner

Here’s a typical morning for me as a corporate wfh mom. 2x per week I allow myself to “sleep in” lol and wake up between 5:30-6:00 am. As much as it sucks waking up so early and trust me I’m tired af by the end of the day, waking up before my kids its the biggest cheat code of motherhood.

It’s the first official work week of 2026. Here are the habits I built last year that I’m carrying into 2026 for my sanity as a full time working mom.

1. 4:45 am wake ups 3x per week to move my body, get ready for the day or have quiet time before the kids wake up. On days where I’m not getting up early to workout/walk I’m up by 6 am the latest.
2. Get dressed for the day even though I wfh. Trust me you’re more productive with real clothes on sis!
3. Plan my week ahead on sundays. I take time to review any school events, Dr appointments etc with my husband before hand so we can make adjustments with our work schedules if needed. If you don’t have a family google calendar already this is your sign to make one & share with your spouse so that you both are aligned on weekly activities/ appointments.
4. Less doom strolling. The best thing I did in 2025 is buy my brick. I feel like I’m slowly recovering from my social media addiction and can actually focus on getting things done during my work hours
5. I will be using ALL of my PTO hours. I’m not saving not one hr! Every time the kids are out of school I will be off taking time off work if I can.
6. Take frequent breaks away from the computer. On Days when I have a lot of meetings on the calendar I block off time to walk away to decompress. My biggest lesson learned 2025 is to protect my time during work hours.
7. Commit more time to hobbies guilt free. I dedicate so much of my time to work and my family that I deserve to have some time to pour into my hobbies and not feel guilty about it. I love to read and I’m learning photography this year!
